Dr Childs is a trained Medical Oncologist and Radiation Oncologist. He has worked at Addenbrooks Hospital, Cambridge, UK and The Royal Marsden Hospital, UK and held the position of National Clinical Director at the Ministry of Health, NZ.

He has a depth and breadth of experience having worked in most areas of radiation oncology. He has a particular interest in:

• Lung cancers
• Prostate cancers
• Lower Gastrointestinal cancers
• Palliative radiation care

He currently consults at Auckland City Hospital, Auckland Radiation Oncolgoy (ARO) in Auckland, and at a satellite clinic in Whangarei. This clinic is located at Cardinal Points Specialist Centre, 8 Percy St, Whangarei.
