Support Services

At ARO, we understand that coping with cancer and undergoing radiation treatment is not easy. We want you to have access to information and services that have proven to make a positive difference to patients' well-being before, during and after their treatment. Depending on the diagnosis and treatment some costs may be incurred for services.


Dietitians »

ARO has MercyAscot dietitians onsite.


Physiotherapy »

Physiotherapists can help regain quality of life.


General »

To help and support people with any type of cancer, and their whānau. This may include emotional, educational, financial, nutritional and physical advice and support. May be used in conjunction with other support services. Some services may incur a cost.


Cancer site/type »

Organisations commited to providing information and support by cancer type or site. May be used in conjunction with other support services.


Mental well being »

Find a councellor or clinical psychologist to provide emotional and psychological support. May be used in conjunction with other support services. Please feel welcome to discuss with your RO or doctor. Services may incurr a cost.


Special services »

Specific products and services to help and support people with any type of cancer. May be used in conjunction with other support services. Services may incurr a cost.


Hospice/palliative care »

Palliative care and hospice services for individuals and their families, care networks, communities and whanau. Services are free. May be used in conjunction with other support services. Please discuss this with your doctor.
