A landmark year for ARO
Wed Dec. 18th 2024
2024 has been a landmark year for ARO in leading advances in radiation therapy for patients from across New Zealand.
This year, we extended our CyberKnife robotic radiotherapy programme to treat liver and pancreatic cancers with unmatched precision. Additionally, we expanded our neuro-oncology programme to include the treatment of benign brain conditions—offering new hope for patients where treatment options in New Zealand remain limited.
These advancements are the result of a collaborative effort by our team of radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, interventional radiologists, medical physicists, and nurses. Their expertise and dedication drive our mission to deliver world-class cancer care.
As we close out 2024, we reflect on these milestones and the mahi of everyone involved in these achievements. We are excited to continue delivering further innovations in our treatment programme for the benefit of patients across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
