Auckland Radiation Oncology and Cancer Society Auckland Northland celebrate renewed sponsorship partnership

Auckland Radiation Oncology (ARO) and Cancer Society Auckland Northland (CSAN) are delighted to announce the continuation of their sponsorship partnership, offering the opportunity to capitalise on their previous three years of collaboration.

The Cancer Society’s central tenet is to reduce the incidence and impact of cancer in Aotearoa, New Zealand. With one in three New Zealanders likely to develop cancer within in their lifetime (increasing to one in two by 2040), the support and wrap-around care Cancer Society provides is essential for Kiwi families/whānau affected by the disease.

Internationally recognised as being at the forefront of radiation therapy cancer treatment, ARO offers patients a choice of leading-edge radiation therapy designed to improve cancer treatment outcomes and quality of life.

The renewal of this partnership is a clear demonstration of the continued commitment from both ARO and CSAN to improve cancer outcomes for patients.

Having already worked together successfully for three years, ARO’s relationship with CSAN has provided significant support in the maintenance and enhancement of the charity’s accommodation service. CSAN’s Domain Lodge, situated in Grafton, provides a home away from home for patients travelling to Auckland for appointments or treatment, and eases the financial burden many families experience in the wake of a cancer diagnosis.

Andrew Young, Cancer Society Auckland Northland CEO, said, “We’re incredibly grateful and excited to continue our partnership with ARO. The support from Kate McLellan and the ARO team means CSAN can continue our important work of reducing the impact of cancer and ensuring the best cancer care for patients in the Auckland and Northland region. By leveraging our combined insights, knowledge of cancer and commitment to improving patient results, the relationship between ARO and CSAN promises to go from strength to strength.”
