Special Occasion for Newly Completed ARO North Shore Facility
Fri Aug. 8th 2025
This week marked a special occasion for our newly completed ARO facility on the North Shore.
A beautiful Karakia (blessing), led by our Antares Place neighbours Te Kura Raki Paewhenua Kaumātua & Senior Kaiako – Matua Hohepa, removed the tapu placed over the site during the soil turning ceremony 15 months ago to protect those involved in the construction process. The ceremony then transmitted our mauri – our collective energy and vitality into the new facility – by us touching the walls as we followed Matua Hohepa chanting his Karakia as we moved through the building.
Ngā mihi nui to everyone who attended the event this morning – and a big thank you to Te Kura Raki Paewhenua for their Manaaki and leadership and to Jonyne Mariu-Komene for a beautiful Karanga.
